    Wow. That’s depressing.

  2. 2007 June 7

    Why is that depressing?

  3. 2007 June 7

It is depressing that there are scientists who believe in 6-day creation. How exactly did they get their PhD’s if they believe in such things? Did they “lie for Jesus” while they were students, by pretending to understand/accept science?

That’s really the only way that I can understand it – either their graduate studies were a sham, or they lied their way through education.

Sorry Dan, but evolution is not a repetable science, it is a faith, it is a belief. Everything from the big bang to Macro evolution. It is a belief system.

  5. 2007 June 7

    HA! That’s a good one!

  6. 2007 June 7

    Not a repeatable science?

    A bit like astronomy?

  7. 2007 June 7

I don’t know about astronomy, but physics is definitely NOT a repeatable science either, it’s a belief system too!

Intelligent Falling, on the other hand, is real science.

    LOL

“Sorry Dan, but evolution is not a repetable science, it is a faith, it is a belief. Everything from the big bang to Macro evolution. It is a belief system.”

Um, no. It’s a scientific theory. Exactly like gravity or that germs cause disease, with just as much evidence for it as those two theories mentioned.

  9. 2007 June 7

“Theory” being the key word there, and no it is not like germs or gravity. Nice try though.

  10. 2007 June 7

Um, gravity is a theory too, Jeff.

    Way to show your ignorance!

  11. 2007 June 7

D’oh – sorry, wrong link. Here you go:
    Gravity

  12. 2007 June 7

You do understand Jeff that theories are the product of science?

All they do is come up with theories and then try to prove them wrong. Those that survive the process are the best of the best and describing the way the world really is. The biological theory of evolution has survived a lot.

  13. 2007 June 7

    Jeff,
You deleted my comment because I pointed out your ignorance on gravity as a theory of science?! I’ve been laughing at you this whole time, and now you get tired of me?

I’m surprised that you tolerated rationality that long!!!!!!!

    :-D

  14. 2007 June 7

Ah, wait a minute, you didn’t delete it. Damn, I gotta stop typing in a rush. Still, it has been amusing reading your blog.

    Ciao.

Number theory is also a theory.

    As is music theory.

God must have created rabies, cholera, smallpox and HIV, as there is no way they could have evolved.

The idea that people were designed by God is interesting.

It leads to the prediction that black people were designed by God to live in Africa.

Compulsory Bible quote – Acts 17:26 ‘From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.’

Let’s see the atheists try to refute the claim that God determined that black people should live where they have skin designed by God as the most suitable for the ‘exact place’ he determined that they should live.

I’m a Christian and I don’t believe in 6 literal days. My point being, how could we have had a number of days occur before the sun was made?

Bohu and Tohu (excuse the possible spelling mistake on that Hebrew) are the stages in creation. We now see them as days. I believe it’s God’s 6 stages of reversing chaos into design. Along the process, the sun and moon were created and normal “days” started to occur.

This does not mean I believe in evolution. In fact, any proper investigation into evolution tears the “theory” to shreds. It’s just bad science. New scientific areas such as molecular biology, quantum physics and the information sciences make evolution look quite retarded.

A mere list of names doesn’t prove or disprove anything (if we are to play the name game, then the NCSE’s “Project Steve” should be taken into account, too). Having a doctorate or other college degree doesn’t afford the bearer any special powers, nor does it mean that they are infallible or can never be wrong. It’s inaccurate to say that no one who has gained a PhD is a creationist, but can we say that these people are really doing science if they think they know the answer to the question before they even start? I know the patented creationist response to this is “Well evolution is a religion, and therefore isn’t science,” but that’s nothing more than a straw man; our understanding of evolution comes from direct observation of nature and science, creationism from a fundamentalist interpretation of the Bible (because no matter what you think it says, it’s still an interpretation).

Gravity is not a theory. Gravity is there (call it whatever you wish, but it is a quantifiable force), but WHY AND HOW are the bit about THEORY.

    Consider the following argument made:

    ————————————-

“Sorry Dan, but evolution is not a repetable science, it is a faith, it is a belief. Everything from the big bang to Macro evolution. It is a belief system.”

Um, no. It’s a scientific theory. Exactly like gravity or that germs cause disease, with just as much evidence for it as those two theories mentioned.

    ————————————-

Evolution is a theory. so to make the analogy, people are here (truth), but how we got here (theory – theology, evolution, etc) Gravity is here (truth), but how it got there (theory – relativity or mass, some new discovery in 2050, etc..).

and as for the big bang, its a claim, much like genesis, and its a one time event. in this case there is no truth to support a theory. its therefore a matter of belief, to make the analogy, the big bang happend, because it happend! the bible is right because it says so (genesis)! then you got all the monkeys trying to fit the facts into their theory (the universe is expanding etc.., and i dont even want to go into how silly the christians are fitting facts for genesis)

i hope ive made it clear to everyone what a theory is and what a belief is

of course scientists will believe in creation, and evolution and whatever…it gets to a point where there are no more answers!!!! therfore you make shit up!! it doesnt matter what your profession!!
